McCobb's has been owned and operated by the same family for two generations since 1962. We are not a corporate chain with a manufactured image. We are the Mamakos family and we are at the restaurant every day, continuing to serve you — our loyal customers, generation after generation.

McCobb's started out in 1940 as the Maple Snack Bar, an eight-stool, roadside hot dog stand. While we have always preserved and honored that heritage, those humble beginnings are a distant memory as we have long since evolved into a contemporary casual dining restaurant. We still proudly serve our traditional Texas Wiener "All the Way" side-by-side with our contemporary menu selections, such as our soups and sauces designed by Culinary Institute of America graduate Chef Joseph Salonia. Our newest menu creations include our line of Hickory Smokehouse BBQ selections, such as our Tennessee Chicken Cheese Steak and our Smoked Pulled Pork and Smoked BBQ Pulled Chicken sandwiches.
A can-opener doesn't get much use in our kitchen. Our homemade soups, sauces, and gravies are made on the premises the old-fashioned way. A slow-simmering of all-natural chicken, beef, and pork stocks form the essence of our various soups, sauces, and gravies. Our soups are made from scratch, starting with our homemade stock and fresh ingredients. Our gravy is homemade, the way grandma made it — using the drippings from when we roast our roast beef. We even make our own signature Memphis BBQ Sauce from scratch.
We spend hours and hours in the kitchen in order to serve you the highest quality wholesome food. Please don't mistake our food for "fast food". And please don't be disillusioned because some of our competitors like to throw around words like quality, homemade, and fresh. When we say those words at McCobb's, we do so with sincerity. We have earned the trust of our loyal customers. They know that we always strive to improve the quality of our food. Never the other way around. That's what keeps them coming back decade after decade.
